Junior worship and learning activities

During the pandemic our junior church activities were not able to meet as we would have done in the past. We are gradually increasing what we can offer our children and young people but that does not mean you miss out on the various activities. Every month we hold PFZ (Parent Free Zone) Youth Group on the second Sunday of the month between 5.00pm and 7.00pm. All are welcome - contact us for more details.

Messy Church can also take place at home too - with loads of activities available at www.messychurch.org.uk/covid-19

Church supports Jeel al Amal Boys Home - Generation of Hope

Jeel al Amal (Generation of Hope) School and Boys Home was founded in 1972 by two Christian Palestinians, Alice and her husband Sahhar, in the village of Bethany just outside Jerusalem. Today it is run by their daughter, Najwar.

Releasing children from poverty in Jesus' name

Behind the global statistics, behind the facts and figures, are individual children; children with names and families; with likes and dislikes; hopes and dreams. We may not be able to change the whole world, but we can change the life of an individual child. We can’t help everyone, but we can help someone.

Our Prayers this month

Every week pray for our Church Officers, Elders, all who lead worship, those who provide and show the PowerPoint and work the camera and microphones, those who provide music during times of worship.

3rd – 9th December

To ponder: How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!” (Isaiah 52:7)

3rd – Advent Sunday.
Give thanks for those who bring hope to people in need: the Salvation Army who will be distributing the knitted blankets and everyone who has been involved with the Shoe Box Appeal.
Pray for all who are waiting – waiting for a diagnosis, waiting for treatment, waiting for a job interview, waiting for an end to conflict, waiting for God to speak to them.

10th – 16th December

To ponder: As it is written in Isaiah the prophet: ‘I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way’ – ‘a voice of one calling in the wilderness, “Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.”’ (Mark 1:2-3)

12th – Church Meeting.
Give thanks for all who have served Fareham URC over the last year..
Pray for those in special need, the poor, the lonely, sad and homeless and for all whom life is hard and the future seems bleak.

17th – 23rd December

To ponder: There was a man sent from God whose name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. (John 1:6-8)

18th – Messy Church.
Give thanks and praise for all we have to rejoice in this Christmas. Pray that God will help us to keep Him at the centre of our celebrations.
Pray for those who have lost a loved one during the last year and are dreading this season without them.
Pray for those for whom Christmas will be struggle.

24th – 31st December

To ponder: While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them. (Luke 2:6-7)

24th – Nativity Service.
25th – Christmas Day – we welcome our friends from the Methodist Church for worship.
Give thanks for charities and volunteers who reach out to and provide hospitality for those who would otherwise be alone.
Pray for all who this Christmas are in desperate need, who do not have enough food or water, or who are without a place to call home.
Pray for peace for all who are troubled, especially over the Christmas period.

Daily prayer: Lord, help me to draw closer to you and learn from you today, thank you that you want me to walk more closely with you because you love me.Lord, help me to trust you, listen to you seeing you in ALL situations, in ALL difficulties, in ALL special sights, help me to look for you... open my eyes, ears and heart. Amen.
