The Church Meeting in February decided to support Jeel al Amal Boys Home in Bethany, Israel as our overseas charity for the next two years.

Jeel al Amal (Generation of Hope) School and Boys Home was founded in 1972 by two Christian Palestinians, Alice and her husband Sahhar, in the village of Bethany just outside Jerusalem. Today it is run by their daughter, Najwar.

Releasing children from poverty in Jesus' name

Behind the global statistics, behind the facts and figures, are individual children; children with names and families; with likes and dislikes; hopes and dreams. We may not be able to change the whole world, but we can change the life of an individual child. We can’t help everyone, but we can help someone.

Charities and other organisations supported by the Church

As part of its outreach the church supports two charities each year, one local and the other national or international. The charities chosen for 2020 and retained for 2021 given the reduced fundraising activity undertaken during the COVID-19 pandemic are:

  1. The Moving On Project
  2. Mercy Ships
