Junior worship and learning activities

During the pandemic our junior church activities were not able to meet as we would have done in the past. We are gradually increasing what we can offer our children and young people but that does not mean you miss out on the various activities. Every month we hold PFZ (Parent Free Zone) Youth Group on the second Sunday of the month between 5.00pm and 7.00pm. All are welcome - click here for more details.

Messy Church can also take place at home too - with loads of activities available at www.messychurch.org.uk/covid-19

Our Prayers this month

Every week pray for our Church Officers, Elders, all who lead worship, those who provide and show the PowerPoint and work the camera and microphones, those who provide music during times of worship, those who prepare the flowers and those who provide welcome and hospitality.

29th September – 5th October

To ponder: Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things. (Philippians 4:8, NIV)

Give thanks for those who refuse to be silent but speak up for the poor and those with no voice.
Pray for those whose written and spoken words touch hearts, change minds and point a new direction for all who receive them.
Pray for those whose lives are a symbol of hope and whose words cut through the barriers of self-interest and self-sufficiency.
Lord of all creation, touch our hearts and change our minds.

6th – 12th October

To ponder: You will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:12-13, NIV)

8^th Church Meeting including presentation from MHA
As the war and violence escalates in the Middle East, pray for those who have lost homes and loved ones and whose lives will never be the same again.
Pray for an end to this cycle of violence and that there will be peace and healing.
Give thanks for organisations and individuals who are working for peace and supporting those in need.
Lord, in these dark days, we pray for your light to shine.

13th – 19th October

To ponder: Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (Hebrews 13:7-8, NIV)

13th Church Anniversary and PFZ
Give thanks for all the people who have been part of what is now Fareham United Reformed Church over the years; from the Protestant Dissenters who built the first meeting house in 1691 to the current worshipping congregation.
Pray for this year’s anniversary celebration and the Moderator of Wessex Synod, Revd Dr Michael Hopkins, who will lead our morning worship.
Pray for the young people and helpers (including those who prepare the food) and the time of fun and fellowship they share at PFZ.
Lord, keep our eyes fixed on Christ, the source of all faith, hope and love.

20th – 26th October

To ponder: You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. (Psalm 32:7, NIV) See Mission Praise 793

Give thanks that we have a faithful God who we can always trust and turn to in all situations.
Pray for those who are finding life difficult, whose energies have left them and who are now increasingly dependent on others.
Pray for those who are becoming more confused and uncertain with the years.
Living Christ, be with all who are lonely or afraid. .

27th October – 2nd November

To ponder: When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12, NIV)

28th Messy Church
Give thanks for the families who come to Messy Church and share fellowship together and all who help to make it happen.
Pray for all on half-term break, children, teachers, support workers, may they take the opportunity to relax, refresh and refocus for the remainder of the term.
Pray for families and individuals who are struggling with their finances and the fear of problems ahead as the weather becomes colder.
Lord, thank you that no matter what is going on in our lives, however dark things seem, we can always praise you because our lives are in your hands.
