Messy church

Junior worship and fellowship

Junior Church takes place every Sunday morning and is open to all ages. Young people and children take part in the beginning of morning worship and then join in age-related groups for a variety of activities.

Families with babies and pre-school children are welcome to sit anywhere in the sanctuary, or in the safe area at the back of the church, so that everyone can participate in worship. Soft play bags are available for the very young.

Fun for Under Fives (FfUFs) runs every Monday morning in term-time for pre-school children and accompanying adults. The session includes play, craft activities, story time, songs and a prayer.

Messy Church is normally held on the first Monday of school holidays except Bank Holidays. All ages are welcome, accompanied by an adult. A fun morning, including a variety of craft activities, a short time of worship, and a light lunch.  The next Messy Church event is on Monday, 30th March between 10 am and 12 noon. There is no charge for Messy Church, but to help with catering, please let us know you are coming by text - 0748 472 7777 - before Wednesday, 25th March.

prayer table

Our prayers this month

Every week pray for our Church Officers, Elders, all who lead worship, those who provide and show the PowerPoint and work the camera and microphones, those who provide music during times of worship, those who prepare the flowers and those who provide welcome and hospitality.

Prayer for Growth: God of Mission,  who alone brings growth to your church,  send your Holy Spirit to give vision to our planning, wisdom to our actions,  joy to our worship  and power to our witness.  Help our church to grow in numbers  and in spiritual commitment to you  and in service to our local community.  Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

15th – 21st March (15th – Mothering Sunday)

To ponder: Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. (Ephesians 4:2, NIV)

  • Give thanks for those who were there when you needed them and who stood by you when others let you down.
  • Pray for those who show kindness; those who go the extra mile and turn the other cheek; those who have helped others to value themselves and renew their hope in you.
  • Lord, the source of all kindness, fill the earth with your love.

22nd – 28th March

To ponder:  Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. (Romans 12:12, NIV)

  • Give thanks for all who listen, those close to you and organisations who help those in distress.
  • Pray for those who are scared because they are different, and those who feel they can’t escape their mistakes:
  • Lord, thank you that you choose to reveal yourself to us and that you know us, love us, and sustain us.

29th March – 4th April (Holy Week)

To ponder: He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. (Isaiah 53:3, NIV)

  • Give thanks for all that God has done for you through his Son, Jesus Christ; for his death on the cross and that through him you can know that your sins are forgiven and that you are loved and accepted.
  • Pray for yourself and all that you will be facing this week; for the things that make you happy or sad, angry or full of joy.
  • Cross-carrying Jesus, help us to stay with you, to watch and wait and know that you carry us.
