Messy church

Junior worship and fellowship

Junior Church takes place every Sunday morning and is open to all ages. Young people and children take part in the beginning of morning worship and then join in age-related groups for a variety of activities.

Families with babies and pre-school children are welcome to sit anywhere in the sanctuary, or in the safe area at the back of the church, so that everyone can participate in worship. Soft play bags are available for the very young.

Fun for Under Fives (FfUFs) runs every Monday morning in term-time for pre-school children and accompanying adults. The session includes play, craft activities, story time, songs and a prayer.

Messy Church is normally held on the first Monday of school holidays except Bank Holidays. All ages are welcome, accompanied by an adult. A fun morning, including a variety of craft activities, a short time of worship, and a light lunch.  The next Messy Church event is on Monday, 26th October between 10 am and 12 noon. There is no charge for Messy Church, but to help with catering, please let us know you are coming by text - 0748 472 7777 - before Wednesday, 21st October.

For further details, contact secretary@farehamurc.org.uk who will pass on your query to the relevant co-ordinator.

Our prayers this month

Every week pray for our Church Officers, Elders, all who lead worship, those who provide and show the PowerPoint and work the camera and microphones, those who provide music during times of worship, those who prepare the flowers and those who provide welcome and hospitality.

Prayer for Growth: God of Mission,  who alone brings growth to your church,  send your Holy Spirit to give vision to our planning, wisdom to our actions,  joy to our worship  and power to our witness.  Help our church to grow in numbers  and in spiritual commitment to you  and in service to our local community.  Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

12th – 18th July

To ponder: So, my son, throw yourself into this work for Christ. Pass on what you heard from me - the whole congregation saying Amen! - to reliable leaders who are competent to teach others. When the going gets rough, take it on the chin with the rest of us, the way Jesus did. (2 Timothy 2:1-2, The Message)

  • Give thanks the churches within the Solent Cluster
  • Pray for Revd Tim Searle as he prepares for his induction to the cluster pastorate.
  • Pray for all ministers of the gospel.

By the way they live, the words they speak, and the care they have for people, may they be a living demonstration of your love and power.

19th – 25th July

To ponder: Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground. (Psalm 143:10, NIV)

  • Give thanks for teachers and all who work in education.
  • Pray for eleven-year-olds moving from junior to secondary school
  • Pray for school and college leavers, moving into work, or preparing to go on to further or higher education.
  • Pray for all young people being brought up in a digital age where good and bad, truth and falsehood, right and wrong seem hard to navigate with so much on-line influence.
  • God of love, bring your love and comfort
to everyone who is lost or hurt or unsure of what to do.

26th July – 1st August (CTiF Holiday Club, Monday to Friday)

To ponder: Jesus took the children in his arms, placed his hands on each of them, and blessed them, (Mark 10:16, GNB)

  • Give thanks for all carers and grandparents who look after children during the school holidays.
  • Pray for the CTiF Holiday Club – for the children and their families, the helpers and those who have planned the theme and activities for the week.
  • Pray for families that cannot go on holiday, who are finding it difficult to pay for the necessities of life and have no spare money for trips and treats.
  • Jesus, friend of little children, be a friend to me; take my hand and ever keep me close to thee. (W.J Mathams, 1876)
